Additional Services
for Health Care Professionals
Because of my past experience with writing, typography, and medical information,
my writing services can be tailored to fit the needs of other health care
professionals. Whether you're working on a book manuscript, are looking for
a more personalized brochure to distribute to clients, or want to establish
a web presence, I can contribute written product that is professional, readable,
and informative.
Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, my 20 year work history has included
experience as a proofreader and typesetter in both newspaper and commercial
printing environments, typing and proofreading legal documents; creating
promotional materials for in-house clientele; and writing training manuals.
During my BA studies at the University of Washington I attended a year long
Novel Writing course, and enrolled in two independent study projects, one
of which involved medical library research and producing papers with journal
citations.
Other experience related to my present profession includes public speaking
engagements, university lectures, a past position as a "health expert" on
WebMD's acupuncture discussion board, and writing the copy for and maintaining
two websites.
As my clinic & teaching schedule permits, I am available to provide
the services listed below:
 Editing articles
and manuscripts.
Most recent work was assisting Dr. Zhu Ming with his English-language
translation of The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine, published
in 2001 by Foreign Languages Press, Beijing. $30/hr.
Copy writing
for brochures, promotional materials and websites. All the text on this website
is my composition. $75/hr.
